Phase One Of Deadwood’s Main Street Master Plan Begins

Deadwood’s City Commission approved a contract not to exceed $55,000 with Winter & Company to complete Phase One of the city’s Main Street Master Plan on Monday. According to the Black Hills Pioneer, the project is multi-faceted, and includes urban planning, event management, safety and security, infrastructure, pedestrian access, amenities, landscaping, and public space development.

All of this plan must be completed with consideration to Deadwood’s National Historic Landmark status. The purpose of Phase One is to review previous efforts to better understand current conditions and physical constraints that will affect later stages of the Main Street project. Winter & Company is the lead consultant on the project, and their team includes architecture, engineering, and special event management consultants.
