Deadwood October Gaming Numbers Up From 2017

With a third month of positive growth in Deadwood’s gaming numbers, October 2018 saw a 12.31 percent increase over October 2017, reports the Black Hills Pioneer. According to monthly gaming revenue data released by the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, patrons in Deadwood spent a combined $103 million on gaming machines and tables last month.

Executive Director of the Deadwood Gaming Association Mike Rodman said that another positive month brings the community a step closer to its first positive year in a while. Of the $103 million, the industry gained approximately $9.6 million in adjusted gross revenues for October. Nine percent, or $800,800, of those revenues were collected as state taxes and distributed to various state entities.

Deadwood’s annual gaming revenues so far are up 1.28 percent over 2017. Rodman hopes to see Deadwood continue to grow as a gaming destination.
