Deadwood Holds Harvest Jubilee

Deadwood held its first-ever Harvest Jubilee this past weekend, organized by members of the Main Street Square Initiative and sponsored by First Interstate Bank. According to the Black Hills Pioneer, event organizer Louie Lalonde said the promotions committee was looking to bring a family-friendly event to downtown Deadwood, and a Harvest Jubilee seemed to be a great fit.

The event was held Saturday, October 20th on Main Street in front of the Silverado/Franklin from 12:30-4pm. All events, including scarecrow-making and pumpkin-carving contests, old time family photos, face painting, a scavenger hunt, and a pet costume contest, were free to participate in. Prizes were awarded to all first and second place winner of contests.
