According the State of South Dakota's Report Card, the Belle Fourche School District 9-1 had a high school graduation rate of 89.1 percent in 2015, which was lower than previous year's rate but higher than the statewide average of 83.96 percent.
During the 2015-2016 academic year, the Belle Fourche School District had a total fall enrollment of 1,365 students in elementary, middle, and high school. With a 1.7 percent dropout rate, the district graduated 104 students. Fifty-two students took the ACT exam. The average composite score was 21.4. The Belle Fourche School District is governed by a seven-member board which meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:15pm at the Belle Fourche School District Administrative Office. The board’s meeting schedule, agendas for meetings, and board minutes are posted on the school district’s website.
